email messages too wide

I got word from someone that all the emails he gets from me are so wide, he can only read them by hitting the reply button. Otherwise he has to keep scrolling. Is this a problem of mine or of his? Either way, can anyone tell me how it would be fixed?

The problem may occur because I sometimes type things into Notepad and then uncheck wordwrap before I paste them into the email. I've been worried if I don't do this, the other person's email program might not be able to format the text according to that person's email window width. Don't know if that's the cause though.

Hi

That could well be the problem in using Notepad, try a test email by typing your text straight into the email text box in your Email application (BTW what Email application are you using?) or leave Word Wrap ticked.

Could try Wordpad instead and see if that clears this up, if you prefer to type your emails out before cut and pasting into the email text window.

Hi Halo,
It seems this problem occurs in one person's email program in an emailing list of about 30 people, so I decided to make him pursue the problem. I think it must be a setting somewhere in his email program that has to do with wordwrap.

Some email programs have an Options setting that gives the user a choice as to the maximum number of words (or characters) across the line of an email. I suggest that your friend check his email program to see if he has such an option.
