Email send/receive problems and error message

My microsoft office outlook is not working properly when I try to send or receive email. My ISP providor says my Port 110 does not communicate with them. If I reboot my computer I can send or receive for one time only. Then it continues to time out unless I reboot again. :cry

I was hoping that maybe I could find a "fix" or just uninstall and reinstall outlook and not windows.

Error Message:
Task "home.ffni.com - Receiving reported error (0x8004210A): 'The operation timed out waiting for a response from the receivng (POP) server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your service administrator or your ISP.

Any help that can fix this would be greatly appreciated. I have contacted Dell, Norton, my router company, and now finally here.

HI

A few options for you to try,

1. Disable Nortons MS Office plugin as its a pain and does cause many issues with Office, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/329820

2. You can repair Office, you've not mentioned which version you have but the later versions you can click Help in any office application and choose Detect and Repair, this repairs any broken component in Office, however if the issue is the email settings for your ISP then it will nto fix those.

3. Double check the Email settings in Outlook, and make sure the servers are set to these under Mail Server Settings http://home.remconline.net/tech/index.html
