OK, I have had it with gmail. What email are you using? I was hitting 54Mbps down, 11Mbs up, but could not send a dang email with gmail. It lags when I type, want to get a new one.

    Thoughts?

I have my own mail server and I use outlook 10 as the email client :-D
Hosting is by Go Daddy and domain names paid in advance for 10 years :-D
I also have several gmail accounts and a yahoo account but rarely use them now :)
When I use gmail or yahoo I still use outlook as the email client and I just enable the accounts when I want to use them. I do this by having multiple Outlook data files and I name them so I know what they are instead of just being outlook.pst rolleyes
I also have several work email accounts as well and same deal as above ;)
    Cheers

If you set your Gmail account up as an IMAP account in Thunderbird it should fix the lag issue. Works perfectly here. Or you could use an alternative client to Thunderbird if you prefer.

Sylpheed is a light, fast, stable 3-pane client that I've used for years. The only potential drawback is that it doesn't display web pages - you just get a page full of links and text. But if it's speed your looking for, Sylpheed is hard to beat.

    HI Fred

I tend to use a few email addresses:

    Hotmail
    MSN
    Outlook
    Gmail
Majorgeeks (privileged to have this account)
    Nokia
    UK NHS Gov email account
    my own gobbledgeek.com domain account

all are ok not issues with service or speed, but what client are you using to review your email? online, outlook, thunderbird?

I always just log onto gmail to check email. Never saw the need for extra stuff to check email. Might try one or two, just to see what is up with them.

I am checking out the free version of hushmail. Minimalistic interface, a little more privacy and much less if any advertising.
