    Hi,

long shot but might be worth trying... Has anyone came across software that would allow to emulate a phone on a Windows laptop and link with a sim card reader ?

My phone has broke (physically) in half about 5 months ago and I decided not to get a new one but I still need to have access to my number for internet banking etc. and because I often use my laptop I tried to find a way to to use it as a phone as well. I can find dongles to read a SIM card via USB (like in the link below) but in description it mainly says you can use it back up, copy contacts etc. but nothing on having access to data, phone number, SMS

    Thanks

Your phone has a cellular radio that connects to cellular radio towers. There is no way to emulate that piece of hardware with software.
