eMule questions

I've done a bit of research about eMule and it seems as if it's similar to the whole torrent "scene". I know how torrents work (more or less) : you go to a web site (the torrent tracker) and there's lists of downloadable files; you download a small (30k or 40k) .torrent file; then open that .torrent file with BitComet or uTorrent or another client and you're off to the races. So, what's up with eMule? Is it the same sort of thing? Are there eMule trackers? What's the deal with eMule? Any input is appreciated! Thanx!

eMule is a (Useless) P2P that is network based. Like limewire you share files with clients. You can use the torrent part of eMule if you like but it is a second thought.

Why waste your time with torrents anyway? Networks are the best in my opinion, just make sure you protect yourself.

 

I use torrents 'cuz that seems to be one of the only ways to get certain files. I just wish it was faster. My IE or FF downloads average over 400k and my torrent speeds are closer to 250k, sometimes up to 400k. I'm looking at eMule for a faster way to download large files. If it's "useless" and torrents are a waste of time, what do you recommend?

Limewire = Spyware bundled, virus ridden, P2P client for useless . . . .
