I downloaded a movie with .avi* format at the end of the name and in the file I unzipped with it it has a password.url.

Now the problem is I need a password to decrpyt this. It sends me to a site to calll a 1-900# that does not work.

Can anyone suggest anything?

 

What you have is a fake file. This is fairly common in the torrent world with new releases. Chances are, if you actually dialed the number, you'll have a nice fat charge on your phone bill for $4.99 or as high as $19.99. I've seen this before. Usually when compressed files from a download ask for a password, you're directed to a site where you must install some software (usually including malware) to get the password, and 99% of the time, there is no password and you end up infecting your PC and wasting all that time downloading an empty, fake file.
BEWARE THE TORRENT!!!!

BTW- if I were you, I'd delete the file immediately and run some deep scans for viruses and spyware. Then report the file to the site where you downloaded it from. If you can't report it to an admin, leave a comment in the comment section for the file saying it's fake and warning others to stay away. That's the correct protocol and ettiquette in this situation.
