encryption software

    Does anybody know of a program where I can encrypt a file and email it to my friend then he can decrypt it without him having to also download the software? Like a standalone file.

    Why encrypt it in the first place if anyone can decrypt it? Or did I just misunderstand what you said?

    Invisible,

    Have you looked into PGP? It's fairly simple to use, and all you have to do is send your receiver the key once you've encrypted the file with your PGP encryption software.

    Read about it a bit, and you'll get the idea.
