Enemy territory

i am playing Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory online, but having massive lag. My pc meets all the requirements and then some (2.8GHz proc, 1 gig of ram, 128 meg of video mem, etc.) i have a cable internet connection and just cant figure it out. i think the problem is that the game takes up 100% of my CPU, but i dont know why considering i smash the minimum requirements to pieces....is there a program or something to limit the CPU usage of the game? or any other ideas

 

Hmm its not the CPU usage that is causing your lag. Try looking elsewhere. As the game runs on the Q3 engine with the same network code, and you have cable internet, pull down the console and enter:

/snaps 40
/cl_maxpackets 120
/rate 10000

that should help your ping to be lower - maybe won't stop the lag. who knows?
