English to American translations

    Enjoyed almost all of these and thought guys n gals from either side of the pond would get a good chuckle from it. Was most pleased that Haggis got a mention, but i was a little annoyed they didnt clarify for interested parties when the hunting season is as tourists need this info to avoid disappointment.

    Very good...hehe, here's my favourite;

    clap n. Here in the UK, "giving someone a clap" means applauding them (in the same way as Americans might give someone a "hand"). Not to be confused with giving someone the Clap, which means the same thing on both sides of the Atlantic. :D
