Enhanced CD problem

Hello everybody...

I hope i am in write part of forum for this question...

I inserted an 'enhanced cd' into my comp... this CD is from 1999, so my new Dell with Windows XP far exceed the minimum requirements....

My comp is free from malware...so no resource hoggers... but i get this error when i insert

Director Player 6.0
This program requires at least 3mb of free memory to run.

When i don't auto run it i can play the file dirct from the folders.. but i want to give this CD as a present so i'm wondering what the prob could be.

I just have one question... because i'm a bit nervous in changing these settings (they can be changed back pretty eaisly i assume?)

When i get to the very last screen shot pic in your first link ( http://www.hi.au.dk/microscope/xppatch/ ), i have these figures in the section with the red circle around it..

Inital Size (MB) : 1536
Maximum Page Size: 3072

It recommnends changing the paging file sizes to 500MB or lower.. it has 500 inserted for both these values in the screen shot eg... is lower better in this instance? will changing these effect other programs i run?

If you don't want to change the settings, try closing out some programs you might have open and try the CD.

I am on my work computer (98SE) right now and cannot check the settings for XP.

Here are my settings (same as the one's you listed) in XP, I haver never changed them from default.

Yeah. I have never fooled with mine so not a very good one for the solution. You might get some other ideas to try instead of the one I posted. Good luck.
