OK, here's the problem. Every so often, like every couple of minutes, a new direct connection is created (unless it is already there) called ENTER, with the phone # or host address '5'. It attempts to connect(every couple of minutes), and then i assume it fails as it's status changes to 'disconnected'. I've scanned my pc loads of times with loads of different pieces of software, and got rid of a lot of other rubbish that i only just discovered was there, but this is stubbornly remaining. I've also tried googling it a lot, but enter is a very commonly occuring word in computery sites so i have little success.

Anyone have any idea what it is and how to remove it? Any help greatly appreciated :)

    Hi

To gauge whats happening on your PC, ( I suspect a malware Dialer of some sort ) please run the below guide as it may highlight exaclty whats causing this,

Our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.
    • Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support
    • Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.
    • Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.
    • After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:
    Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis

Make sure you also rename HijackThis.exe as suggested in the procedures. Use analyse.exe for the new name. This is very important due to some new infections going around.

    • When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too:
      • CounterSpy - ONLY IF you were not able to run Windows Defender
      • Bitdefender - from step 6
      • Panda Scan - from step 6
      • runkeys.txt - the log from GetRunKey.bat
      • newfiles.txt - the log from ShowNew.bat
      • HijackThis
NOTE: You can only attach 3 files in a single message so it will require that you use two messages to attach all of these logs!

OK, after a lot of different virus scans i finally fixed it.

As well as a lot of other malware i didnt know i had.

But im still having this other problem:
Whenever i open IE it gets blocked by windows data execution prevention and closes instantly. Now, obviously i dont use IE, but this implies that i have some sort of spyware or something.

This seems to have slipped past norton, counterspy and spyhunter as ive run scans on all of these several times.

    I've attached a hijackthis log.

To fully judge wether you still have some malware issues that could be attributed to the DEP error please complete the guide as listed and attach the requested logs.... I do know a work-a-round for DEP errors but I would mcuh perfer to see if this is still malware related.

You will also need to follow the instructions for Hijackthis as yours is installed and not re-named as listed in the guide I posted earlier, we can old help you if you meet us most of the way too.

    • When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too:
      • CounterSpy - ONLY IF you were not able to run Windows Defender

      • runkeys.txt - the log from GetRunKey.bat
      • newfiles.txt - the log from ShowNew.bat
      • HijackThis
