Epson Printer install

Hi Guys,
Was a member a while ago and you were all a great help.
Have a new laptop, Samsung i5 running Windows 7, trying to get my old printer (4yrs old, Espon TX101) working on this machine.
Have installed printer drivers (now 64bit), using both disc and windows "add printer" option but still no good. Printer is set as default printer, but still not printing, responding to "test Print" or any maintenance commands. The printer is working from the printer controls (can scan & copy), just not talking to my computer.
Any suggestions would be grateful.
