Help! I have had my Epson Stylus CX5400 for over a year now, and recently the original ink cartridges were replaced due to faded and strange color prints, so I bought all brand new replacement cartridges. After correctly installing the four cartridges (black, CMY) I tried printing and the printer goes through the printer movements and paper feeding correctly, but the sheets are blank. I have run multiple cleanings and alignments and test pages, however it is still not printing anything. I have even done a system reset. How can this be and what are my other options? Thanks in advance!

this one is a no brainer .....

You left the little plastic covers on each ink cartridge. They keep them on there so the ink doesnt dry out untill you install the cartridges. Simply pull out each cartridge and look by the color, youll see the little piece of plastic.

Unfortunately the plastic tape on the cartridges were not the case. That was the first thing I checked for and it was removed. However, as I started to give up the repair of this printer, I decided to take it apart and see if I could find the problem. Upon taking off the main cover, I noticed that there was a lot of ink all over the place. Then I noticed that the waste ink tube was disconnected because of a clog of hardened ink. As I started to work out the clogs, I noticed that the other side of the tube was disconnected as well. I connected both ends, tried to do a head cleaning, then I hear a "psssh" sound and noticed the tubes popped off again. So I did some more cleaning around the waste ink resevoir end and used super glue to keep the hoses in place. After about 3 cleanings it was printing perfectly again. However, due to this discovery, I will no longer buy Epson after this one goes out. It is horribly made and I'm sure there are others that have run into this problem.

As a printer engineer i would say 50% of problems are with lexmarks 30% with epson and 15% with hp i hardly ever get a canon to deal with i would recommend in my professional opinion canon any day plus the cartridges are much cheaper with nothing to go wrong with them.
