Error 112

When i now receive an email or a notification that has an address or link in ,when i click on it to open it, i get a notification panel come up as follows

Setup is unable to locate layout file
C\ docume~\ --------\ my doc~\ layout.bin
which is needed to complete the installation
error 112
i have Xp 2 home version
Has anyone had this and how did you overcome it as i cannot open anything at present

Are you intending to install stuff when you click on these links/addresses? Just curious since that could mean the link/address contains malware or is doing something you are not intending or expecting it to do.

 

I will try your link ,I am not trying to install anything ,just trying to open a link, in an email or other

I asked about the installation because it is mentioned that it is trying to install something when you click on the links/addresses. Just something to be aware of.

 

I have looked in windows explorer and have searched for the temp folder, it states that i have a folder called Temp Folder Cleanup.Dll in Document \settings\all u 13 kb Application extension on 13\07 \2007
will it be okay to delete this

 

I looked for a mention of this folder on google and came up with nothing. I cannot say to delete it or not, someone else may come along that knows better than me though so be patient. Did it mention it in the microsoft article I linked to you? If so what was there recommendation.

 

I looked through all of the Microsoft Article that you linked to me ,but nothing seems to fit the problem

CAUSE
This issue occurs because you do not have enough disk space available in the temporary files folder.

RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, delete the temporary files in the temporary files folder to free disk space.

To manually delete temporary files, follow these steps: 1. Start Windows Explorer.
2. Open the drive:\Windows\Temp folder, where drive is the drive on which Windows is installed.
3. On the Edit menu, click Select All.
4. Press SHIFT+DELETE.
5. Click Yes to confirm the deletion.
You can also use Disk Cleanup to free disk space. For additional information about how to use Disk Cleanup, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
