Error 1606 cannot access %userprofile%\nethood

    My wife is trying to install this scrapbooking software and we keep getting this message, "Error 1606 cannot access %userprofile%\nethood." Did the registry stuff recommended, turned off AVG and tried reinstall, gave permissions in registry..still same thing? Any ideas? I think I noticed somewhere that Norton will cause this. I use to have Norton, is there a good cleaner tool out there. Please help.

    and also use http://www.majorgeeks.com/Norton_Removal_Tool_SymNRT_d4749.html in case of left overs from Norton, which their sadly will be.


    also what other security software do you have installed, as some do block changes to registry, so maybe worth un-hooking from internet and disabling them while you install,

    Thanks for replying and the norton link. I wasn't paying attetion to the "type" in the registry addresses. I went back and the microsoft stuff worked. Thanks again.
