    Hi all,
I have a notebook HP Pavillion DV9000 with Windows Vista Home premium.
It worked fine for one year, but from yesterday It doesn't work any more!
At startup it stops with this error:
    *** STOP: 0x0000C1F5 (0x00000000,0x00000000,0x00000000,0x00000000)
I tried to start it in safe mode. I see that it is loading many files, till it stops on this file:
    C:\Windows\System32\drivers\CRCDISK.SYS
and after few seconds the BLUE SCREEN again with the error in object.
I have tried to startup also with the recovery disks, but the error is always the same and I cannot load the last valid configuration.
I ask you to help me, but I'm not sure this is a software error or a hardware one.
I'm desperate :cry because I'm afraid that I've lost all data in the hard disk!
I'm sorry if I have made some mistakes (I'm italian) and I thank you in advance :wave

Well, I'm not an expert, but I think you have no lost your files. Try to boot with a bootable cd like Bart PE, and make a copy of your files in a usb HDD.After, format your hdd (with the same cd Bart PE) and reinstall your OS.

Unfortunately, this error has happened to quite a few people but it is not in MS's database.
This solution was offered, if you can not start windows

I have been working with a Fujitsu-Siemens PC with the same error. I have a recovery DVD, but when I tried same error appeared. I have formated HD with a bootable CD and after I have installed Windows Vista with recorery CD. Now all is OK
Sorry too for my bad Eglish. I'm from Spain.

Thank you all for your answers.
At the end I have send the notebook to the HP assistance.
The error was a hardware error, due to the RAM.
They have substituted the ram then formatted and reinstalled Vista.
    Now it works fine.

    Bye bye, ciao!
