    Hey Guys.

General Question. I have multiple external hard drives, 3-4 to be exact, each from about 250GB-500GB and have to do some disk checking and defragmentation on them. I was wondering what would you suggest for good tools that can be used to find/repair damaged sectors (if there is any)?

Cause currently i'm just using the Windows 7 Error Checking Tools (chkdsk.exe and disk defragmenter) and its taking a good while, and was wondering that there has to be an easier means.

Btw, all hard drives are NTFS.

You can use this --> http://www.ntfs.com/disk-monitor.htm to check for bad sectors etc. but i don't know of an alternative to chkdsk, for repairing them.

Afterthought: you could look on the HDD manu's website, some have a dedicated sector repair type utilities :)

Yeah, I'll give that a try, but there's like 3 different hard drives types. But I'm gonna look into your Disk Monitor Application and see how that will run after the next hd is done error checking...
