    Hi all,
I have read the other threads about Error Cleaner, Privacy Protector, Spyware&Malware Protection, and now I am wondering if these programs are the front for something else? (like one of the *.Win32.* viruses/trojans)?? I am trying to get it off a friend's computer, and I consider myself pretty computer literate, but i am having trouble. I will post the logs once I am finished this other scan on the computer, but I was just wondering in anyone knew. I am suspicious because I find PandaSoftware to be pretty good about these programs, but it doesnt seem to have any knowledge of this one. Any ideas anyone??
    Thanks!
I will post logs when this scan is finished if I am still having problems!

    Hi *EQL*

    1) You need to uninstall the below:

    - J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 2
    - J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 3
    - Java(TM) 6 Update 2

    2) Reboot after uninstalling the above.

    3) AFTER you reboot, install the current version of Sun Java from: Sun Java Runtime Environment

    4) Run HijackThis (now called analyse.exe and located in the MGTools folder under C:\ ) and select Do a system scan only. Select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)
    O2 - BHO: OFK System - {E2D31F0C-78A4-4713-A7E4-6F4A50525D4B} - C:\WINDOWS\blopenvtrm.dll
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime
    O8 - Extra context menu item: &Search - ?p=ZRxdm479YYCA
    O21 - SSODL: leorop - {A4E077EA-9A12-4399-9B64-B55E7C81AA5C} - C:\WINDOWS\leorop.dll (file missing)
    O21 - SSODL: nopzet - {DD99D7E8-0FE2-4048-909B-EBFFD5F34896} - C:\WINDOWS\nopzet.dll

And if you don't know what this one is, fix it too:
    O16 - DPF: {DA80E089-4648-43D5-93B4-7F37917084E6} (CacheManager.CacheManagerCtrl) - http://candystand.com/assets/activex/virtools/CacheManager.CAB

    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

    5) Run this Disable/Remove Windows Messenger to remove Windows Messenger. Do not confuse Windows Messenger with MSN Messenger because they are not the same. Windows Messenger is a frequent cause of popups.

    6) Now download The Avenger by Swandog46, and save it to your Desktop.
    • Extract avenger.exe from the Zip file and save it to your desktop
    • Run avenger.exe by double-clicking on it.
    • Check the 'Input script manually' box.
    • Click on the magnifying glass icon.
    • Copy everything in the Quote box below, and paste it in the box that opens:
    • Now click the 'Done' button.
    • Click on the traffic light icon and OK the prompt.
    • You will be prompted to restart, OK the prompt and your PC should reboot, if not, reboot it yourself.
    • A log file from Avenger will be produced at C:\avenger.txt
    7) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune. This program does not require an installation. The executable actually runs the program.

NOTE: This program is for Windows XP and Windows 2000 only. ATF Cleaner will remove all files from the items that are checked so if you have some cookies you'd like to save. Please move them to a different directory first.
    • Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
    • Under Main choose: Select All
    • Click the Empty Selected button.
    If you use Firefox browser
    • Click Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
    • Click the Empty Selected button.
      • NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
    If you use Opera browser
    • Click Opera at the top and choose: Select All
    • Click the Empty Selected button.
      • NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
Click Exit on the Main ATF Cleaner menu to close the program.

    8) Please post a fresh MGlogs.zip and let me know how things are running now?

    abri
