I keep getting this error code when I downloading my web cam software. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The subcode 0x80070005 means "access is denied" so there is something that InstallShield is detecting as not having the proper rights to.

    1) Right click on the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE
    2) Click on 'Permissions...'
    3) Under the tab 'Security' click on 'Advanced'
    4) Tick on the checkbox of 'Replace permission entries on all child objects with entries shown here that apply to child objects'

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help; can you tell me where I can click on the HKEY local machine\software? I'm not that good with computers. Thanks!

Rather than editing the registry try this:

    go here and download "Dial-aFix":

    http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4899.html

Unzip "Dial-a-fix" and run the .exe.

At the bottom of the window that opens, click on the "hammer", this will open "Dial-a-Fix" tools.

In the upper pane look for "repair permissions" and select by clicking on it.

    Click "GO"

Let "Dial-a-Fix" do it's thing which may take a while to complete.

See if this takes care of your problem.

I started to work on this solution as I was redirected here from a google search for that error number as I was trying to repair my internet email send link send page options which are currently greyed out...

I am running windows 7 pro.
I tried dial a fix but it does not run on windows 7...
Here are the steps I was trying to take...
