error installing ms flight simulator X

im probably kicking a dead horse but her it is:
im running xp-pro sp3. and when trying to install microsoft flight simulator X, i get this error: " theMSXML4 SP2 component is not installed, please reinstall flight sim. to restore or repair this missing component". ive uninstalled and repaired to no avail. how can i fix or get around this problem? thank you

im having simular problem but just a little different: I have recently reformatted my computer, my O.S. is XP-PRO, SP3 Corporate Edition w/updates, kaspersky internet security 2009,intel pentiun4 3ghz.
im trying to install a downloaded version of "microsoft Flight Simulator X" (Razor 1911), but near the end i get this message: ("TheMSXML4 SP2 component is not installed,please reinstall Flight Sim. to restor or repair this missing component").
ive tried downloading "MSXML4 SP2" from microsoft but to no avail. i tried downloading
"msxml4.manifest" and putting into folder,tried downloading sp1 update from sim site, but still no luck still get message. have uninstalled and re-installed around 5 times, each time running Ccleaner to clean registry and "reg scrub xp", then defrag system before each install. could someone please give me some directions on how to get this fixed please?
i had no problem when my operating system was only updated with sp2. very frustrated please help.

Hi

Either try the repair option for MSXML 4.0 SP2 Security Update (925672) in Add/Remove click the link and then repair.

If not uninstall and then goto Windows Update and check for updates, if it lists which is should then install from there. (if you have Spybot installed, disable it when downloading and installing as it may block some installs from registering with registry correctly)

But in the end as I know who and what RAZOR1911 are then you may need to buy the game and if Windows XP is also a downloadable version then the OS too as these "downloaded" versions are prone to not always working properly, even if in the past its worked, doesnt mean with latest MSFT updates for Windows it will now.

thanks for the reply,both of your assumptions are correct about game and operating system, ill try what you first said if that doesnt work then ill pinpoint it twards my operating system evedently.
