hey guys pls help me with something about my dell latitude c600 with a windows XP pro
when I start my laptop it tries to boot up but the next thing that appears is the message saying"sorry, windows did not start succesfully maybe because of recent hardware or software change......." and at the bottom are the safe modes and last known config or start normally choices and here comes the windows xp logo trying to start but it didn't. instead it gives me a quick glimpes into a blue screen with a message. non of the safe modes work. or I mean I tried to do safe mode and these directory appears but dont know what to do. Am I supposed to press something? so at the boot up I press F8 and tried to disable the auto restart on failures, blue screen error reads Unmountable_boot_volume
I dont have any installer cd or recovery right now or a chance to get one. and this laptop has just been borrowed from a friend. pls tell me what to do. Looking forward to some help of any kind. More power geeks.....

Do not try a Millenium CD

Did you make a recent hardware or software change?

Take the battery out, wait 10 minutes, replace and restart.

If you get to the screen offering last know good configuration select it and press enter.

You will have to try the Dell F12 route then, and be prepared to loose any data on the drive. Hit F12 at powerup.
You can also buy the disks from Dell.

Find a friend with a Dell laptop O/S disk. Any will do. For a repair install you might get away with a non laptop disk.
