I use Erunt and it's a nifty little app. Found Erunt gui and it makes it even nicer. I installed it and want to autobackup for 7Days only. How would I write the command line for this? The program is installed in C:\Program Files(86) KRtech. Any help would be appreciated.:confused

Here's a workaround answer, using the program itself.
I don't have the command line method. handy. Sorry.

I have done that with using Erunt, but with Erunt gui(which installs Erunt) does not give an option for auto backup like the regular Erunt install

    This is what I did.
Start Programs Startup and right click the ERUNT AutoBackup. Choose Properties.
At the end of the command, add a space followed by
    Code:
    /days:7

I completely understand that. What I am saying is that if you install Erunt gui as a stand alone(which it does include Erunt) it does not give you the option to use Auto backup at the end of the install like the standalone Erunt does. Don't know why but it doesn't. It does not put autobackup in startup.

Can't you just drag ERUNT's autobackup to the startup folder?
I do that for apps with only an exe (no install) that I want running when the computer starts.

I :confusedtried that but it gave me the message that I must use a Command line to do that.:confused

Right click the exe and select create shortcut (put it on the desktop). Then find the startup folder and drag the shortcut there.

Like I said the regular Erunt program works fine this way. But try Erunt gui,it does NOT give you the option at install to put Autoback.exe in startup....as compared to regular Erunt. Try it ....it will not work when you drag Autoback .exe to start up or if you try ans add it as a shortcut you will get a message about command line syntax. It's no big deal ,it's just a cool little gui that saves some clicking,I would just wish it would be able to keep backups everyday like Erunt automatically.

No thanks. ERUNT works fine for me the way it is. With all the problems you are having, ask yourself, is this GUI worth it? To me having an autobackup is way more crucial than having a GUI and saving a few clicks and creating headaches.

Checked out your link, but it is not listed for use with Vista, or Win 7 :cry

As ERUNT works perfectly well in XP ( I used it for ages), why bother with ERUNT Gui? :confused

Edit auto.cmd as follows to backup every time you start or restart Windows.
If you screw up your system you can go back to the last good start-up.

    "C:\Program Files (x86)\KRtech\ERUNTgui\ERUNT\AUTOBACK.EXE" C:\Windows\ERDNT\AutoBackup\#Date#\#Time# sysreg curuser /alwayscreate /noconfirmdelete /noprogresswindow /days:10

    >>Ziggy -please tell me if it is a matter of just a simple install with no work arounds or other modifications as I am not a tech?
    Portable or regular?
Also, can you change the days and have you tried a recovery?

I notiiced a caveat in regbak about disabling a/v programs while backing up/recovering and wonder if this applies to ERUNT or ERUNT.EXE.
Sorry to annoy you but it is better to have answers before messing a machine up.
