essdc.exe listed as bho

    We are running verizon/yahoo spyware/antivirus software. It keeps finding essdc.exe and lists it as an "unknown trojan" and a bho. None of our other spyware programs are listing it (spybot, ad-aware, counterspy). Is this file a trojan? Would appreciate any more info on this.

    Everything I can find indicates essdc.exe is for an ESS Solo soundcard with nothing at all pointing to any type of trojan. Do you have this type of soundcard?

    AbbySue is correct, this file belongs to ESS Technologies which in this case is referring to ESS Solo audio cards and is necessary for their correct and full-value functioning.

    I used to have this sound card but no longer do. (I removed the file since it's not being used.)
