Ethernet Controller and Broadband

My husbands Computer some how got a virus.. I reinstalled Windows xp pro
My problem is I can not find the proper ethernet controller and broadband downloads to add to his computer.
The computer is custom built so I am not sure what he has on it for hardware.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Could you open up the side of the case and look at the Ethernet card for me? If you can find any type of serial or part number I can more than likely point you toward the driver. The driver you installed doesn't sound like it was the correct one otherwise it would have recognized it.

Well it looks like that board has an onboard network adapter. Try downloading this driver. When the page comes up it should automatically pop up and ask you to save the file. The file is zipped so you will need software to unzip it. If you do not have any I would recommend 7zip. Also, I'm assuming this is a custom built PC, is that correct?

 

I tried what you asked and it did not work.
Even unzipped.
It is a custom built comp.. I could hang my husband for buying a computer that way
my last comp was a HP and I loved it :0)...
If I can not resolve the issue \I will have to break down and take it into the shop we bought it from

I found an old sapphire disc that had drivers on it and it worked perfect
