ethernet range booster

    is there such a thing as an ethernet range booster,
    we are running about 250 ft. of cat5 to an alternate router,
    works fine but losing alot of speed
    any suggestions :confused

    A good solution. If you there are no power outlets midway you can use what is known as 'power over ethernet' equipment. The midway unit would then receive its power from the unit at one end or ther other. You might have to also change one of the end units to achieve this. Look for POE in equipment specs.
