I have nine eula entries in my D drive. Properties tells me it has to do with Notepad and they are a type of text document. It has something to do with Microsoft Visual Studios Beta.

As far as I'm aware, I have nothing stored in Notepad and haven't signed up for a Beta system. Can I delete those entries safely? What harm could I cause if I get rid of them?

I also have nine install.res.dll installed at the same time.

    Running Windows XP.

    Thanks,

    Lavender

    Greetings, Lavender.

Short answer: yes, they can all be safely deleted.

Obviously, a version of MS Visual Studio has tried to install several times and left behind some erroneous EULA files and .dlls (from what I've read, a common bug with early VS builds). You might check your msconfig Startup list, see if there's an entry for the beta - if so, uncheck it, reboot and see if the problem disappears.

If it does, then uninstall any entries for MS Visual Studio in Add/Remove Programs - if you need the program later, you can always install an updated package from Microsoft.

Many thanks. They will be gone in a couple of minutes.

No problem - let us know how it turns out.
