Event Viewer Assistance.

Hello everyone,

I was hoping to get some help resolving some errors that appeared in our event logs today.

The most concerning would have to be one that appeared in the system section of our database server.

Event No.: 9
Description: The device, \Device\Scsi\symmpi1, did not respond within the timeout period.

Microsoft's link had no info on the subject. I'm worried because this seems to have caused our backup to fail, which is needless to say, NOT GOOD. Right now, I'm thinking of the standard windows resolution, try, try again. However, I would like to make sure this isn't going to happen again, before the backup failure becomes a consistent problem.

Another event appeared in the system section of one of our file servers.
Event No.: 3034
Description: The redirector was unable to initialize security context or query context attributes.

This is just a warning, so it doesn't frighten me so much, and since this has been happening since before I began working here, I don't think that it is going to cause any harm. No MS link this time...I would like to get this resolved, just in the interest of thoroughness. As always, your advice is great, and much appreciated.

 

The Event ID 9 is a driver problem.

Can you reinstall/upgrade the drivers?

Hmmm....this is a live server in a 24/7 company, so that kinda scares me. I'll poke my nose around my testbed a little, and see how things go. Thanks for the tip!
