Hi, Like everyone else, I am at my wits end trying to figure out how to delete this Xenofex 2.dll file. It has found a home in a folder that has two other folders which house my PSP8 and PSP9 programs. It is not in either of their folders, but just sitting there. My norton's has been denied access to this file as have I when I tried to delete it. I downloaded the tutorial and all the many tools...went word by word through the tutorial and all the programs "skipped" over this file. Does anyone know a way I can remove this from my computer short of reformatting. (just did that in July)....I am ready to pull the rest of my hair out!

I have not had any issues with the xenofex 1 or 2 dll being detected by any anti-virus software (previously used Norton) in PSP7, 8 or 9...yes I have all 3 installed...lol That aside...is the dll 'Xenofex 2 Core.dll' and 136mb in size, version 2.0.0.0?

It is possible you are getting a false positive. What exactly is the message from Norton?

Everytime I scan past this .dll file (with anything) Norton's says it is a Trojan Horse and is not assessable. Everytime I try to delete this .dll file, I get the same message

For your in formation, when you are ASKED to submit a HJT log they pefer that it is done as a .txt or .log file, not in a thread as you have done it.
You are also running Internet Explorer while you did it, turn all browsers off. HJT should also be in it's own folder not run from the zipped file or a temporary file. Please read this before submitting.

Make sure you have HijackThis 1.99 and follow the guidelines on where to install it and how to post a log as an attachment. This is all covered in the sticky thread NO HIJACK THIS LOG FILES BEFORE READING THIS: HJT Tutorial & LOG File Posting

Now post a HijackThis log as an attachment to your message (Do not post the log inline). All running programs should be closed, INCLUDING YOUR WEB BROWSER, e-mail. Close before running Hijack This!

To repeat: Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file. Place it in its own folder for example C:\Program Files\HJT

    Good luck

Do you have Xenofex 2 installed? If you are worried that the file is a trojan, uninstall Xenofex 2. Now is the file gone. If not, boot into safe mode and delete it.

Then you can reintsall Xenofex 2 and see what happens with your virus scan now.
