I have been using everest home editon to check temps. in my computer. It lists: motherboard, cpu, aux, and then the hard drives. What exactly is aux refering to?

Here is an explanation, somewhat geeky, from a support forum,

"There is no standard for sensor registers layout, so the "Aux" temperature could show the temperature of the CPU or the motherboard, or might be a non-connected wire of the sensor chip, and so it could show a bogus value"

No way to know for sure what it is? So just ignore it?

Sorry, I don't have a direct answer for you, and my previous reply was verbatim from the support site.

If it's not reporting a dangerous temperature, just ignore it.

Yes it reports a temp of 34C so I guess that is ok. AIDA32 reads the same way. Thanks for the response.
