Everything USB now

seems like everything is usb, i got 4 ports in my PC and a 7 port hub, and all are full

i think that is what has gotten my servicehost.exe to be running at 60% most of the time, possible?

ive reinstalled my scanner and still that wont work

so other than reformatting and starting over im a bit confused here

 

An add-on PCI or PCI Express USB card would probably be quite helpful in your situation. Here are the 4-port cards on U.S. seller newegg.com's website:

I've installed a PCI USB card in my computer and my mother's computer. My experience with them has been good.

 

so using a hub is what is causing the problem? which is better a pcie or just a pci? i have both ports free

 

Perhaps I was too hasty in suggesting an add-on USB card. Now, I'm thinking software issues should be explored first. Do you believe your system is free of malware (viruses, spyware, etc.)?

How about downloading Process Explorer and giving it a try to see whether you can gain more insight into exactly what's causing the high resource usage?

 

I am very curious to know the 7 USB devices you have. I have a printer and wireless mouse/keyboard reciever!

 

Try starting up your PC without the 7 port hub connected. What is your servicehost.exe running at, then?

My laptop refuses to boot if I have too many USB devices plugged in at Startup. Bazza

i have 3 ext hdds but i only use 1 at a time
also my monitor has 3 usb ports that i just use to pop in flash drives, so that takes up another port

oh i also have a mic, and a webcam but neither is plugged in
