Evo D510 IRQ Conflicts in BIOS???? help pls

I have two Evo D510 minitowers almost identically equipped but with VERY different results. one gives me XP Pro hangs these days like I have never seen before so I'm trying to review everything.

One issue I need expert help on: This system [hardware] has a couple of USB devices on the motherboard, manifesting in five sockets/jacks on the rear of the system. They are all occupied with things like hubs, IPOD, Kbd/mouse, camera connection, etc. The devices work, amazingly enough.... that's the good news. But I don't know if an occasional conflict between these and other devices causes the "error at memory location xxyzzzyy" from windows, and then a hang I can't resolve... so

I look in the BIOS setups and in one of the device panes I see what would seem to be IRQ conflicts: the screen shows three USB devices, each one having its own IRQ assignment, with only three choices: IRQ's 5, 10, 11. so, one each. right under these listings are:
CPQ Audio Device = IRQ5
VGA = IRQ11
Ethernet Controller = IRQ10

thus, these three 'share' the same IRQ settings as the three listed USB devices.
Is it possible for the system to work correctly with these settings? and, unfortunately, for all six devices, the only three choices shown are those in use: IRQ 5, 10, 11.

If it matters, I am not using the builtin VGA: I use an Nvidia card in the AGP slot.

Generally IRQ conflicts are not a problem in XP - But read microsofts words

I would suggest you run memtest on your ram.

This needs to run for several passes, and a few hours . Some let it run for quite long periods, but I found I had enough information for my needs after 2, or, 3 hours.
