Is there a way to setup auto formatting for the cells in a generated excel file?

Example: If I have generated an excel csv file, and it shows up in excel in a cell as only showing one line in a cell and I have to format the cell to autofit by row.

Is there a way to make it save formatting information before opening the file?

There isn't any way to save formatting to a .csv file since there is no mechanism in the standard to allow it. You could, however, create an Excel add-in to open a .csv file and format it the way you want. You'd need visual studio and some research on how to create Office Add-Ins, but it's pretty simple once you get the hang of it. Deployment is a bit awkward though.
