Excel Printing Issue

We have a user that prints to a network printer for all applications. When she prints to our Lexmark Optra 1250 from Excel, she has to fake out the printer by going in and changing the printer she wants to use and then back again. Any ideas on how to resolve this issue? Is is a security thing. She is administrator to her machine and it also happens to other users that are not administrators to that machine.

Have no idea what you mean by "fake out"? explain please so I can understand.

But if she can print to that printer by in the Select Printer menu ( any application will by clicking File > Print give you the master print options ) and then choose the printer to output, and it prints ok then this is correct as she does not have that printer set as default, presumably? if its set as defualt then each time used the File > Print and the Print Icon will default to that defaulted printer.

Can set the printer to be used and even a networked one, to default by going to Start > Control Panel > Printers and rigth click the correct printer and selecting Set as Default.

If not in the list then you will have to search via the Add Printer menu for a network printer in the list or connect to the PC number ( if allocted ) via the Run menu ( syntax would be similar to \\PC1234 or \\PrinterServer\*name of printer* ) http://www.microsoft.com/resources/...n-us/print_connect_net_printerw.mspx?mfr=true

But if she chooses your printer to output to then whichever printer she also may use will give her the same changing issue as its not default and needs to be manually picked from a list allocated to her PC or Roaming Profile.

I am very familiar with setting a network printer as a default printer. What I mean by faking it out is when she chooses to print from Excel (File/Print) she clicks on the print button and the print jobs does not go to that printer and does not appear to be out there as a print job. If she prints the document again (File/Print), uses the drop-down box to chose from a list of Network printers, picks a printer but does not print but goes back to the drop-down to chose her default printer again it will print. I hope this makes better sense.
