Working on a friends laptop, drive was failing but was able to clone with just a few errors. Boots fine and running but when you go to open docs or pics or explorer I get this error message. It has to do with his verizon internet but not sure what to do to fix it..Any suggestion. Thanks Michael

    Greetings, Hornnumb2.

We need some more info from you: what's the make and model # of your machine, and the operating system and Service Pack #?

Also, please download and run Free PC Audit, a stand-alone system information tool.

(If you get a Security Warning, don't worry about it - uncheck the 'Always ask before opening this file' box, and click 'Run').

When the scan completes, click File > Save As, name the file 'Report', and save to an easily found location, such as your Desktop.

Then attach that file to your next post per these instructions: HOW TO: Attach Items To Your Post or this video.

One more quick question: if you disable and/or uninstall any Verizon software, do your symptoms change?

I think this might be related to the crap I had to get rid of from at&t DSL. Can you get into control panel and if so, do you see anything related to motive or smartbridge? Try uninstalling. If not, in an admin account click start>run and type msconfig. Uncheck anything related to verizon, smartbridge or motive.

Edit: Missed Caliban's post. I would follow his suggestion first.

under msconfig I have disabled anything that has verizon on it but no change. I didn't want to uninstall anything yet because I am not sure on his setup and what is needed. Thanks
