    Hello Guys,

I have just taken delivery of a new laptop running Windows 7 64bit version.

I have joined my DOMAIN without any trouble but can’t get my email working properly. (SBS 2003)

On a previous occasion I think I instructed the server to put an Exchange version of Outlook on the laptop – this time I can’t get that to happen.

I have the Office XP Professional version working but that’s certainly not the version I had on my last computer or the version on the other computers in the office.

Can anyone suggest what I might be doing wrong?

I'm just guessing here, since we use outlook 2007/2010 using exchange 2003. Can the computer ping the sbs? What about turning off the firewall?

    Hello Theefool

Sorry it took so log to say thanks for your input.

I did eventually sort out this problem…

As a user I had two accounts on the server!!! I was instructing the server to install Outlook from one account but was accessing the server from the laptop on the other account. Doh!!

This became evident when the laptop kept asking for a username and password whenever I attempted to access stuff on the server.

    Thanks again
