Excited!!

A lot going on in life at the moment

My two boys get into town from England on Friday for 2 weeks, so I'm trying to contain myself with so much excitement. Work is going crazy, as is my health, so I'm kinda taking a back seat right now. Hope you are all doing great and big hugs

 

Yeah, work is really taking a turn. I'm shaping up the clerical team...not an easy feat as they have been left to their own devices for 15 years, but I'm determined (or stubborn, depending on your viewpoint )

Also about to revamp the website and bring it into the 21st century. I'm having my surgery April 25, so plan to rest for a couple of weeks after that and then spend time working from home on the website. So glad I got my new PC and monitor now

Looking forward to doing lots of stuff with the boys, tubing in the snow, ice skating, roller blading, catching up on a heap load of movies etc.

Ah it's still busy times for me, concert tonight to play in, driving test tomorrow, and then my A/S 6 minute music performance at 8:15am on thursday - ouch!
Seeing Razorlight at the Royal Albert Hall Thursday evening though

Friday is the start of easter pour moi, and it's party on friday too, despite the fact I'm not drinking until May!

Hey McA....all the best with the test tomorrow...you'll sail through I remember doing my Grade 5 music practical..nervous as heck but it went real well. You will do just fine too. Have fun with the concert

I think I am going to be receiving a teenager in much need of some R&R, so I guess it's Dairy Queen on Friday night, Baskin & Robbins on Saturday etc..... lol

 

So it's Friday finally, and I am having extreme collywobbles!

My boys are somewhere over New York airspace about now, so if you are in that area throw them a wave for me.

i so know what you mean. the first time Zoe traveled over she was 18 and i was in rehoboth beach, Delaware. its about 100 miles to Wilmington train station from there. she was to take a cab from the airport to Penn, and then the train to Wilmington. she was due in on the six o'clock train. train came - no Zoe. 'thats OK' i thought. shes just missed the train. seven o'clock train - no Zoe. eight o'clock train - no Zoe. now i am frantic. i cant get the train station personnel to even check to see if she arrived at Penn and got tickets, i didn't know what airline she was traveling with. 9 o'clock train - no Zoe. now i am hysterical. train station personnel are now taking notice because i am having a full on breakdown. i also have Jacob with me who at the time was 3. they contact police for me who put me through a half hour rigmarole, saying things like 'she has to be missing for 24 hrs' and other such hysteria promoting comments before i got to someone who would help. by then it was 9:45 and they asked me to wait for the 10 o'clock and if she didn't arrive then they would come and get me and take me to the station to start a full blown alert. needless to say she was on the 10 o'clock. she had traveled on the Arabian air line (air-AL?) and even then (pre 9-11) the security was so tight in england that the plane was delayed an hour taking off and then in new york it took another 3hrs to get through security. after calling authorities to say she was OK, we left for rehoboth. just out-side of Wilmington there is a pub called 'the star' i think, and i pulled in there to recover my composure. the people in the pub were so fascinated by us both they shut the bar and partied with us till the wee hours with everything on the house, and put us all up in the pub for the night, and gave us breakfast in the morning. the nicest thing about that is that instead of remembering the horror of that night, what i remember most was the empathy and comfort from that pub.

 

PS. she flew in on wednesday for a month. its the first time i have seen her for a year. i have missed her so much there are not words for it. she has been here 2 days. she has already taken the cell phone, and the car, and has altered the settings on the puter. to those that remember her last visit, she takes over everything that starts with a 'C'. clothes, cash, child, camera, CD player, will no doubt soon follow. good to have her home.
