I've recently got myself a new computer and made the switch from 32-bit to 64-bit. I run with 2 screens on, often so that I can watch a video while using a full screen application. I've discovered that with 64-bit it seems to "freeze" the other screen that's not in the full screen application. I know it's still running because I can hear sounds from it, but visually it is not moving. I'm imagining it's a process that excludes visually updating the other screen so my computer runs faster on the main screen, but is there any way I make this stop? I'm addicted to multitasking and it'll sadden me if I can't multitask with full screen programs.

    Just a random thought:
64-bit should use more of your resources there for causing your 2nd screen to slow down .( I could be completely wrong with that statement though)

I've got the same problem, not sure about you but I'm running Vista 64. I thought it was a resolution problem, but I'm not sure.

And yeah, that is completely wrong. If anything, 64-bit allows for the more efficient use of resources - most of the time.

It is more likely you need current 64-bit drivers for your graphics card - check the card maker's website.

Note too that even though Windows has supported multiple monitors for years, not all applications understand that some users have more than one monitor, and therefore the developers fail to accommodate running on anything but the primary monitor. For this reason, the use of a multi-monitor utility is essential.

I can't live without two monitors, and I also can't live without UltraMon – not free, but worth it (see also the free DisplayFusion).

It could be I haven't updated my cards 64-bit. I'll also look into your programs, although the standard multi screen function is fine with me so far. Thanks for the suggestions.

Also I'm running Win 7 64-bit, for the poster who was wondering.
