exe files not found after a virus

Hi,

Can someone PLEEEAAASEE help me? I got a virus the other night and then ran my anti-virus shit... Now every time I try to open something that was previously on my computer it says choose a program you want to open this with and application not found! Not sure what I did. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

 

Sounds like whatever you picked up did a lot more damage than just sitting there waiting to be removed by your A/V software. Do you remember what it was, and also what A/V program you used to "fix" it?

 

I was on facebook when the virus appeared. I have know idea what it was...I did Spy bot and atf cleaner... Perhaps I reset my firefox password by mistake? Not even sure what that means...lol

 

Just to make sure you got all the bad stuff out, give this a through run through (http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407) and post the results of the scan in a new post in the malware forum. You will be in good hands

Yeah, something is most likely still there. Run a malwarebytes scan in safe mode and see what you find.
