Has someone purchased & used with good success with Executive Disk Keeper Pro? Are there any drawbacks with using it over the built in hard drive defragmenter.

I've used it for a few years now. It defragments much faster, and has a nice boot-time defragmentor. As for results between the two, I can't really tell that much of a difference after a defrag, but the speed of the defrag alone is nice. Your best bet is to try the Diskeeper Lite available for download on here. It's a bit old, but I think it is better than the windows default.

I haven't used diskeeper pro, but the defragger in Windows XP is just a stripped down version of Diskkeeper. I've used other corporate style defraggers and there is no disadvantage to using a 3rd party defragger compared to the one in windows. Here is a link comparing the windows defragger to pro http://www.diskeeper.com/diskeeper/home/dk10comparison.asp
