Expanding folder on the start menu without registry hacks? (XP Pro)

    Hi all,

Ages ago on 2000 I created a "folder" on the upper part of the start menu that would open when you hovered over it to show what was in the folder. However, the "folder" wasn't really a folder I'm guessing, just a shortcut that would expand and show you what was in that folder on the hard drive.

I can't remember how I did it and don't remember making any registry changes, yet everything I've found while searching for an answer suggests I need to get into the registry. Is it possible to do that without getting into the registry (on XP Pro) and if so, how?

    Thanks.

Have you right clicked and tried "properties" for options? Honestly it sounds easier to apply a simple registry hack. Perhaps you found a .reg file back in the day and did it and just don't recall that technically you did it with a registry hack. Programs like X-Setup would allow you to make registry changes without doing them manually. I don't know if I am helping here or not, just a shot in the dark.
