Exploit found.

For the last several weeks, AVG has found an Exploit, in My Documents/settings/user/IE5 temp internet, that it can not heal. It comes up with an error when it tries to heal, and doesn't offer a delete or quarantine option. I ran Symantec and Trend Micro online scans and neither found it. The comp at work also got it and McAfee couldn't fix or delete it either. I have tried to follow the path to selete manually, but can't find it, and doing a search using the file info from AVG also failed to locate it. I was going to try CCleaner to remove all IE temp files to see if that would do it. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

 

Thanks for the reply. I will try that. I found it surprising that neither of the online scans even found it.

 

As an update, I went to update my CCleaner, and when i went to the download page at File Hippo, AVG popped up and said there was a Trojan Downloader, which I sent to Virus Vault. After the update, when I ran the CCleaner scan, AVG popped up when the Exploit file was scanned, and gave the option to delete or send to Virus Vault, which I did. I still find it odd that neither of the 2 online scans even found the exploit. Thanks to all who took the time to look at this post.
