Explore.exe error, can't log on

Hi, I can't get onto my account in win xp, it says explorer.exe Application error. The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000006). I can't even log on in safe mode. If I try and start up anything using task manager I simply get dwwin.exe and the same error. I can't start up my antivirus or anything to fix the problem, it wont even let me start up CMD. Any suggestions, I haven't backed up all my stuff, of course. If i try and start in safe mode it comes up with a blue screen before i get to the log on screen, but it goes too fast to read. Then it restarts. Any help would be appreciated.
