explorer cant open window

Diagnosing a PC while not being in front of it is fairly hard as you'll agree as we only have your words to go from, so as much information you can give us will help us to help you try and fix the problem....

being a weekend not all of the regular helpers are around, so it could take a short while to get to your post and offer assistance, also in the Malware forum at present we only have a few full time experts who assist in removing malware from peoples PCs, as with everyone who helps on this site, we do this in our own spare free time without payment, why because we like to give back some of our knowlege, but at times we cannot be around all the time due to family and work commitments, I hope you understand


but back to your problem.........

What error messages were you getting and word for word for the different apps you were trying to run or download, as they could be crucial to knowing what is happening with your PC?


As Abby mentioned earlier have you tried to run any of the guide listed here http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showpost.php?p=796951&postcount=6 if so what parts and cleaning software could you run and what couldnt you run and why ( any error messages etc )?

 

As Halo said, "we need specifics". What was in the email you are trying to open? Was it an Adobe PDF file?

What does Adobe is gone mean? Does that mean you look in you PC for the Adobe folder and it is gone? Does it mean you look in Add/Remove programs and it is no longer installed?

What do you mean? Does it give yo no response at all? Does it open and then fail? Do you get any error messages? Did you try running it from the Start Menu rather than from a shrotcut.

Are you getting the point yet? The info you are giving us is too vague. You must get more details and the must be exact. "Does not work" is meaningless.

Does this mean it worked okay. Did it find anything to fix? What were the problems that it found and fixed?

What message are you referring to?

 

What are you accessing the Internet with? Do you have another browser like FireFox? Does it work?

Perhaps all your problems have nothing to do with malware. Perhaps you had a bad install of SP2. Were you just downloading the SP2 upgrade or were you installing the upgrade.

Sounds like you are in the wrong forum.
