explorer closes when attempting to log in to internet site

Hello, I have a problem with my computer, my hotmail account to be precise. I received an e-mail from a contact sharing photographs and as you open them it infects your computer. I tried using an antivirus and says that my computer is clean. But as soon as I log in to my account the explorer closes. I will open it again and the second try lets me enter into my account and then I discover that my account has sent mass e-mails to my other contacts to open infected files. Please help, I don't want to spread this 'infection' but need to access my e-mail.
