I have a Sony VAIO VPCF13YFX with an express34 slot. This VAIO has a couple USB 3.0 slots built in nevertheless I ordered a 3.0USB X 2 card for it, installed it and can connect an external USB 3.0 device but when my computer sleeps or hibernates it is no longer recognized and I have to remove the card and restart my laptop to get back into it. I've tried to contact the mfg to no avail. The info regarding my laptop is a VAIO PC with Win7 64bit OS. The Express/34 card is a 5Gbps and has the model # of BC628 on it. The package comes from GMYLE and has the following info concerning the product. 3100 ADPEXP34UB3x2. The card comes with a drive CDROM and has an installation file for a Asmedia 104x USB3.0 Host Controller. My thought is that there is a device conflict but I'm not sure how to resolve it. I'm not using the card given I had to do a total restore to resolve the conflict some time ago, my fault given I did not know how to remove it via the control panel. Anyway, does anybody have any ideas? I'd like to use the Express/34 slot and have use of additional 3.0 slots for my devices.

    Hi

One thought I have is that the USB card is continuing to sleep when your PC goes into hibernation, and possible that changing the USB3.0 cards properties "could" help, or at least worth a try.

Enter Control Panel > System and Security > Power Options (think its the same location in Win7, I'm on Win8 at present) and then click Change Plan Settings > Change Advanced Power Settings and then in the new open Window, scroll down to PCI Express and on the Link State Power Management option choose OFF as the power setting > Apply > reboot and test.

Can only think that the device is not resuming from power save, sleep, hibernate as can happen at times with wireless devices.

No joy, the change advanced power settings does not show the PCI Express card. The card functions as advertised but if I shut down the computer and restart it I get a black screen and it will not boot up. Shutting down the computer removing the card and restarting my laptop set everything back to normal. I can insert the Express card and use the two 3.0 USB connections as advertised but allowing the computer to sleep or shutting it off without removing the card means it hangs during the boot process.
