I have a dual-boot setup with Windows 7 and Windows XP. When I allocated the space for the XP partition, I underestimated how much I'd need and now I'm looking to extend the partition by taking a little bit of space away from the Windows 7 partition. I tried using the Disk Management console to do it, but even when I shrink the Windows 7 partition it still won't let me extend the Windows XP partition (the option is greyed out on the menu). Both partitions are NTFS if that makes any difference. Thanks in advance for any help!

This sort of thing is not easy to do within Windows and is best done with a partition manager such as EASEUS Partition Master. It is also highly advisable to image your whole drive before embarking on partition changes. You would lose the whole lot if anything at all misfired. You could use EASEUS Todo for that. Both of these programs are well tested.

You would need a suitable external drive or multiple DVDs to store your image file.

Thanks Earthling, I already had my drive imaged so I used Easeus and it worked perfectly.

It's a solid program, and thanks for the feedback.
