External drive problem

Hi, I got this problem with an external Samsung 160GB drive not showing in 'My computer'. The drive is formatted with NTFS and the O/S is Win XP Pro. Drivers are installed from manufacturers cd and I can't find a newer driver on the web. It just wont pop up in Windows. I CAN access it by going 'Manage' and then change drive letter from (in this case) G: to H:

It still wont show up in My Computer but I can make a shortcut linking to H: and access it from there. Very annoying. And btw, I can't go the easy way and link to G:, it just wont find any drive namned G:

Anyone have an idea?
