    Greetings All!

I recently purchased a Seagate 80 GB internal hard drive which I converted to an external drive using an IDE to USB adapter kit. Initially, the drive installed fine. I was able to format and partition it with no problems. I even moved some files from my onboard HD to the new HD.

However, now when I shut down or restart my system, it fails to recognize the new drive. After the last restart, I unplugged the USB cable, waited a minute or so, plugged it back in, and I got a message that said "New Hardware Was Found/USB to IDE Adapter", but the drive failed to install.

What should I do the fix this problem? Is there a way I can set my system to always recognize the new drive? Your help is greatly appreciated! My system specs are listed below.

    Thanks!
