Hi everyone! Just a question about extra RAM..

I have an ASUS laptop with 2.66ghz and 256 RAM, is this quite unusual? Apparently 2.66ghz is very high but with 256 RAM it is quite unusual. So do you think upgrading my RAM would dramatically increase my computer speed? I am thinking of either upgrading to either 512mb or 1gb. And how much do you think that this would cost to get done at a computer shop?.. I live in New Zealand.

    Thanks a lot!

Yes, I think going to at least 512 would help you out a lot. 1Gig is my preference for a computer if I use it much. As far as cost, I don't know, but you can do it yourself usually in 5 to 10 mins. Just make sure you get the right ram for your computer. And doing it yourself will be much cheaper, the shop is going to most likely charge you more for the ram and then charge you to put it in.

Try this link http://www.crucial.com/ It has a scan thing to tell you what they recommend for your computer.

No problem. If you decide to do it yourself and need any help, make a post.
