extremely slow bios start

I have a homebuilt PC. Running an ECS p4m900t-m with a pentium D 3.0Ghz dual core, 1 gig ddr2 667mhz memory, 120g ide hd, 250g sata (boot drive) and a 320g sata on channel 2. 2 dvd burner drives installed also all with a 550 watt psu.

I have been having trouble with a very slow startup (windows starts fine, just bios starts) Screen sits a while before memory posts ok, then sits there a while longer. After about a minute it will finally finish and begin loading windows. All drives are setup correctly. As a matter of fact, both SATA drives are new as upgrades. Tried running without the IDE drive, same thing. Double checked bios setting and all seems ok, but maybe someone has an idea of something I missed? Also, already successfully flashed bios with new version, but nothing appears to have gotten any better. Any help is appreciated.

 

Some BIOS's have an option for QuickBoot, make sure it's set to Enabled. Also, if there's a setting for PnP (or Plug-N-Play) Operating System, set that to Yes, or Enabled. Other than that, all I can suggest is setting everything to Optimized Defaults, or Fail-Safe Defaults and see if either of those make a difference. Also set your hard drive as the first boot device so the BIOS doesn't waste time looking at the CD drives and the floppy drive. If none of this helps, maybe check with the ECS web site for a possible BIOS update.

 

already done. no PNP os options, hard drive set for primary boot, dios quickboot enabled, etc. I even went as far as setting all auto options to what they actually are. No go. ECS bios update already flashed. Any more ideas greatly appreaciated.
